Early Learning Initiative.......educational
interventions targeted at pre-school children eg outdoor learning,
language development etc.
- Work with education providers to develop responses to specific issues such as underachievement in education.
Primary Homework......homework clubs based in primary schools in disadvantaged areas
- Support provided to Homework clubs in 19 Primary schools in the city,
for children who lack the support required to complete their homework
at home.
Supervised Study......supervised study based in secondary schools
- Support provided to 10 Post-primary schools in the city for the
delivery of Supervised Study to students, particularly those in exam
classes.
Supplementary Tuition.....extra tuition in the area of Science and Mathematics
- As part of the Johnson & Johnson ATE > BTE programme, support is
provided to 3 Post-primary schools for tuition in the area of Science
and Mathematics. The aim of the programme is to encourage and assist
students to stay in school and progress to further or higher education.
Traveller Education......additional supports for Traveller students in primary and secondary schools
- As part of the Traveller Inter-agency process, Mentors are funded in 6 Post-primary schools.
- Additional support is also provided to 3 Primary schools to ensure the inclusion of Traveller pupils in Homework clubs.
